Jimbaran Beach Club

Its beach shack-style structures span 350sqm and merge with a real traditional jukung boatshed on its southern side that is still used by the local Jimbaran fishermen to shelter their craft. Two large old trees have been incorporated into the dining room and the bar – the latter’s trunk furnished with racks of Jim Beam and Campari and its branches protruding through the roof.
Open for lunch and dinner, Jimbaran Beach Club serves Mediterranean, Indonesian and even Balinese selections with a lot of seafood varieties. You can also find pastas, salads, sandwiches and tapas on the menu. For starters, there are the Keftedakia or Mykonian meatballs, and fresh salads include a Thai mango salad, and marinated grilled sardines that are just right for a hot day down by the bay. Family friendly, the club’s menu has a dedicated kids’ selection as well.
Indonesian selections include Jimbaran Beach Club’s take on the local favourite of fried rice, aptly named ‘JBC nasi goreng seafood’ and served with prawn satays, eggs and crackers. Moreover, ‘JBC’s favourites’ includes a giant seafood platter for two, with clams, prawns, octopus and red snapper with tartar and lemon – great for a real seaside treat to share.
The shack bar serves wine, seasonal tropical fruit juices and freshly prepared cocktails. To beat the heat, check out their milkshakes and cool brews. However, to match the gorgeous Jimbaran sunset chill outs, your best drinks choices are near the back of the menu, with mojitos, coladas, beers and caipirinhas in a whole host of flavours. Our green and tempting mint slush colada, together with the sweet basil mojito went down well with the crimson sky as a backdrop.
Lazy beds, pergolas, and cushioned seats arranged neatly on the white sand over a raised and reinforced concrete platform enhance the overall experience. As evening creeps in, the seascape at night is a dreamy scene, with hanging orb lamps, and the twinkling lights of fishermen’s boats on the water, as well as the Ngurah Rai Airport’s runway in the distance.
The beach club is only a 10min stroll away from the neighbouring Four Seasons, and only a 3min buggy drive from the Kupu Kupu Jimbaran Suites. It is very easy to get in from Nusa Dua and back, which is only a half hour’s taxi ride away.
