Feast Restaurant at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort
Advance bookings are recommended, but most of the time Feast welcomes casual walk-ins. If you’re coming from the hotel side, your first view is a bar counter serving a variety of cocktails and beverages, with backlit ornate fixtures. Near the centre are small children’s dining tables and chairs next to a knee-level sweets and cakes buffet around a solid pillar. Families are well catered for at Feast.
Getting to your table at the main dining area is a visual treat and you will find yourself frequently pausing at the fascinating sushi, colourful desserts, and glistening chicken roasts under red heating lamps. The buffet line follows the entire curvature of the building, with the station around the central pillar displaying sweets, chocolates, homemade ice creams and their complete row of toppings, together with various other desserts. The ice cream bar is an ‘afters’ main attraction here, with six enticing colours and flavours from strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and green tea to a creamy and chunky mix of snickers and caramel.
Your journey starts with selections at the cold stations opposite the bar, presenting brightly coloured sushi and sashimi in various rolls and forms. Imaginative sushi rolls follow the seasons, such as recent Valentine’s featured creatively designed heart-shaped rolls in bright pink tuna fillets. The sushi counter borders the cheese and salads bar, with the central pillar dessert station in close view, tempting with all its bright and delightful morsels. It’s hard to resist, but at least you know what to grab on your ‘last trip’. Beside the desserts, there’s a set of liqueurs comprising Benedictine, Teacher’s Highland Cream, Frangelico and Disaronno. Occasionally, Feast will treat you to try one of the selected spirits with some pralines. One free tasting on them, then its only Rp.60,000++ per serving.
Feast also offers a la carte selections. To start with, there is the 500g of poached tiger prawns served with lemon and horseradish and cherry tomatoes, or you can go first-class with the luscious vintage and premium Sturia caviar, which comes served with sour cream, Melba toast and traditional accompaniments. Mains include Kurobuta pork belly with truffle mash, curried lentils de puy, granny smith reduction and goat cheese foam for Rp. 178,000, while there’s seared barramundi served with steamy Balinese clams and chorizo at the same price. As an all-day dining venue, Feast’s four square tables on the outdoor wooden patio each have their own wide parasols. A live fish tank is set beside a stationed grill, which means you can take a pick of then have it freshly prepared in a jiffy. At only Rp.250,000 per adult, you get a splendid buffet spread with a great selection of Sheraton quality cuisine.
